One of our Web Content specialists, Brooke, recently spent some time paddling off the coast of Florida.
The conditions couldn’t have been better for a late afternoon paddle on the Florida Atlantic; perfectly flat, crystal clear water with a light southern breeze. We could see the sand and sea life below us as we paddled north up Boca Raton beach; brightly colored schools of fish, tiny beach birds scurrying along shore, and I even saw a few flying fish soaring further out.
My sister and I grew up vacationing on this beach and never had SUP boards before, so being able to come back to the beach with boards of our own was really exciting because we were able to explore the beach we knew so well in a whole new way. Having never paddled in the ocean, finding our balance was quite comical but once we got our feet under us, cruising up and down the shoreline was a breeze. I would have to say the best part of our afternoon paddle was catching waves into shore, it took me a couple tries but once I got the hang of it I was hooked and paddled out to catch a couple more. If you have never tried a SUP board before, I highly suggest giving it a go, I promise you’ll fall in love too.
