Every year SnowSports Industries America puts on the biggest snow sports trade show in America in Denver, CO. SIA 2015 runs for about 5 days and pretty much every ski/snowboard/winter outdoors brand you can imagine is there. It’s a chance to see and experience all of next year’s gear, and what a year it will be. Here’s a sneak peek at a few of the exciting innovations and gear for next year.
From the world of snowboarding, it looks like there will be some fun new board shapes coming from a variety of vendors. As our snowboard buyer Jenna said, “I’ve never seen so many swallow tails back on the mountain!” So keep an eye out for some interesting looking (and riding) snowboards for next season.
On the skiing side, the new line up of bull’s from Blizzard are getting a notable improvement and making some of the best skis this year even better for next year. With a carbon fiber tip and tail, the Bonafide, Cochise, and Bodacious will be significantly lighter weight and easier to put into a turn, but they still haven’t lost any of their power or drive.
The Armada Invictus series is worth noting for next year as well. Starting with just one ski, the Invictus has blossomed into a whole series, making it Armada’s first line of true all mountain skis. While they do depart from the more classic Armada skis, the flat (or at least flatter) tailed, metal laden skis still hold a very playful nature while being powerful all mountain rippers.
Hands down, the coolest new helmet out for next year is the Giro Range. The Range has an adjustable dial at the back of the helmet that adjusts the size. No, not just a dial that adjusts the inside of the helmet, but the entire shell itself adjusts, making it the most customizable and lowest profile helmets out there.
In the world of clothing, be prepared from some serious retro/throwback looks, mainly from the 90s. Neon colors are back with a vengeance, circular shaped sunglasses are popping up everywhere, and old school sweaters are taking over. Brands like Patagonia and Spyder are following this trend hard and have some very exciting new styles for next year.
All in all, SIA really stepped up this year to bring some hot new gear and brands for next season. Check out the photos below for some sneak peeks of gear and the show itself!
