It’s our second year working with HEAD Skis for the Kid’s Ski Design Contest and wow did it explode this year! We had over 160 submissions for children all over the country and got some incredible designs. Unfortunately, we had to delay the announcement to do some research into our winning ski. The artist was so talented we actually had to make sure she’s a kid. Without further ado, check out the winning skis below:
3rd Place: Seth Jarski – “Hexo”
Seth submitted his third place design among one of the earliest designs submitted. Living in the great lakes state, he’s actually a snowboarder who’s excited to learn how to ski. His skis earned over 1000 votes from viewers and the bright colors and intricate design immediately caught our eye. For third place, Seth has won a $100 gift card to Skis.com that he can hopefully put toward his first pair of planks. Congrats, Seth!
2nd Place: Finley Korn – “Finley’s Butterflies”
“Finley’s Butterflies” was another early staff favorite. We loved the colors and design spreading the wings. Finley is a 9-year-old youngster from the Chicago Suburbs, She’s been skiing for 5 years now, and just started her first season of competitive racing. She has an obvious passion for everyone’s favorite winter sport and a growing love for art as well. We’re so excited for her!
1st Place – Cameryn Friederichs – “Skiasuarus”
So, like I said we had to do some research into Cameryn and wow were we impressed! We’ve never had a digital design so we did some investigating to make sure that the user wasn’t a grown up. Cameryn is a budding artist from Indiana with a developing brand and some exceptional talent. Plus, she skis! How fun? We can’t wait to work with Cameryn on getting her skis produced and to see her out there using them! Congrats Cameryn, and check out some of her other work below:
