Grand Targhee Resort

Who’s Getting Dumped On?

After a long and very cold spell on the East coast things have started to warm up a little bit; but this years January thaw only seems to last a few days, followed by temperatures dipping down into the teens again, with more snow on the way. Some areas in the Central Rockies – most notably the Wasatch Mountains and Front Range in Colorado have received some much needed snowfall for this years MLK weekend (1/12/18-1/15/18). Most of us are wishing to buried in the several feet of snow that has bombarded the Alps this past week, and unless you are lucky enough to be able to fly across the Atlantic for a quick ski weekend, we are going to assume you will be skiing stateside.

Groomers off of the the Dreamcatcher Quad will be packed and smooth if you like that sort of thing, but heading to the Grand means that you are searching for powder. The trees off of the Blackfoot quad are going to be soft and fluffy. Low winds with snow throughout the day on Friday, and a morning snow-fall on Saturday mixed with temps in the mid 20’s make for perfect snow conditions.
