There are a number of different lasts available in ski boots, but 100mm last boots are the most popular and best selling nearly across the board. The reason for this? Boots with a 100mm last usually have the most R&D put into developing them while being loaded with the latest comfort and performance features that manufacturers have to offer. The width and fit of 100mm last boots are typically available in a variety of flexes for the strong intermediate all the way up to hard charging expert. Most companies start boots in this category at a 90mm flex and lead all the way up to the flagship model at a 130 flex. The vast majority of these boots also have the ability to be customized for your foot and your skiing style, so these boots generally are a favorite for bootfitters to customize.

With so many stellar options and styles out there, it’s tough to pick out only five to highlight – so we chose six instead! These are the six 2018 100mm last boots that impressed us the most:

Here Are Our Top Picks:

Atomic Hawx Prime 110

Atomic Hawx Prime 110

The Atomic Hawx Prime 110 features the Memory Fit Shell, which can be customized in only about a half hour’s time by having a bootfitter heat the shell in a special oven before setting on your feet. As the shell cools, it starts to mold and shape to your foot. Atomic’s Sole Flex Technology uses ribs along the forefoot that delivers a natural flex and improves your balance. 3M Thinsulate Insulation in the Memory Fit 3D Gold Liner keeps you extra warm with additional customization options.

Tecnica Mach 1 120 MV

Tecnica Mach 1 120 MV

Tecnica’s Mach1 120 MV is quickly becoming a favorite boot for bootfitters everywhere. The CAS (Custom Adaptive Shape) uses dimples in the shell (think like a golf ball) that allow a bootfitter to easily shape the shell with the proper tools. The CAS Liner also has the ability to be punched, ground down and heated for a perfect fit across the heel and ankle pocket. Tecnica’s i-Rebound Construction uses metal on metal connection points to deliver forward flex resistance and a tremendous amount of rebound.

Lange RX 120

Lange RX 120

The Lange RX 120 has had a bit of an overhaul this season. A new thicker shell takes a page from Lange’s race department to enhance energy transmission and power. A wider toe box will improve comfort and balance. The new Dual Core Construction also increases power and reduces twisting on the sole of the boot to enhance responsiveness. A Natural Stance stands more upright to allow for more efficient skiing on modern skis with rocker and sidecuts. The Dual 3D Pro Liner has a precise fit that can be heat molded for a customized fit.

Nordica Speedmachine 120

Nordica Speedmachine 120

Last season, the Nordica Speedmachine 120 made a triumphant return and came packed with the latest and greatest from Nordica. Nordica’s 3D Cork Fit Liner utilizes cork in the heel and ankle pockets that can be molded and shaped to provide heel retention and comfort. The new Tri-Force Construction uses reinforcements on the sole and spine of the Speedmachine to drive extra power and energy towards your skis. The Infrared Customizable Shell can be heated with a special lamp, then an air compressor can expand the shell for a dialed-in fit. The Primaloft insulation in the liner does a fantastic job of keeping your feet warm too.

Salomon X-Pro 100

Salomon X-Pro 100

The Salomon X-Pro 100 utilizes the 360 Degree Custom Shell Technology to allow an Authorized Salomon Dealer to customize the shell for you in less than an hour. Salomon’s 24mm Oversized Pivot is becoming a trademark of Salomon’s performance-mindedness. This burly connection between the upper cuff and lower shell does a great job of transferring power. The Twin Frame 2 Construction uses a stronger and lighter plastic on the sole of the boot that improves responsiveness by reducing the torsional twisting on the shell.

Dalbello Panterra 120

Dalbello Panterra 120

The Dalbello Panterra 120 is a strong boot that holds its own, both inbounds and out. The Hike/Ski Mechanism creates a wide range of rearward motion for both easy hiking and skinning. Dalbello’s VVF (Variable Volume Fit) adjusts the width of the shell by making an easy adjustment to the buckle closest to the toe. New to the Panterra 120 this season is the My Fit Shell, which allows it to be heated and molded to your foot. Another cool new feature with the Panterra 120 is the Irfran shell that is lighter than ever before without compromising any performance.
