Camo.  Some love it.  Some hate it.  Most think it’s just a fashion trend and they’re neutral about it showing up in clothing.  Either way, you can expect to see it in full bloom this year as the trend of camouflage continues at least through the 2014-2015 ski season.

We conducted a survey here at Skis.com among our staff.  We asked what their thoughts on camo was, the available answers were:

A = They like/love it

B = Neutral about it.

C = Loathe it and wish it would go away.

Here are the results.

A – Love It!

18% of those surveyed liked the camouflage look.  Some stated that they liked the military-style look of camouflage and thought it blended well with nature.  Others recognized it as the print that just won’t go away; it was going to fade in and out over time and they’re happy to see it for the time being.

Most of those who liked it seemed to comment that there was a good way to do camo and a bad way.  When done well, it works.  When done poorly, they agree, it’s abysmal.

B – Neutral

60% don’t seem to care one way or the other.  They recognize that camo is a popular choice in style but they don’t seem too affected by it.  In fact, some are glad that it’s being associated with ski and snowboard apparel as opposed to hunting while others claim that it hides dirt much easier than a traditional print.

C – Hate It!

22% down-right hate it and they were certainly the most vocal about their disdain.  From claims that it looks trashy to insistence that it’s for military or hunting only, if you don’t like camo, apparently you REALLY don’t like camo.

Regardless of liking or hating it, the camo look is still quite popular and is definitely popping up in a lot of apparel this year and for next year as well.

So is camouflage just beginning or is it coming to an end?

What are your thoughts on the camouflage look?
