Either way, odds are those straight skis aren’t going to be super useful on the slopes anymore. So what do you do with them? Well you can try to sell them, but if they’re really old, that’s probably not going to happen. So here are 5 things you can do with old skis to turn them into something awesome.

That guy with the fence must have been a sponsored skier or a rental shop owner. Seriously, where can I get skis to work with at a reasonable price? I contacted manufacturers about blemished skis and got nowhere. Even Play it Again Sports wants more than is reasonable for building stock.

      Scott,

Finding an abundance of these old skis can be hard. Try checking out some local ski swaps, this is the season for them. Craigslist often has ads for cheap old skis, or you could always post an ad on there stating you are looking for old skis and the price you’re willing to pay. Sometimes you can find some at secondhand stores or garage sales. I, myself, have found a couple pair in people’s trash piles when they finally decide to get rid of them. Just clean them first! Hope this helps.

Another outlet is the salvation army or another resale shop. I usually see a ton of old skis there. (I’m in michigan, this probably wouldn’t be as effective in say florida)

Those old skinny skis are pretty worthless to all but a few. So there are a few options. You could place an ad on craigslist stating that you will come get them. Also, contact some of the older skis for sale skis on craigslist as they are not going to fetch any $$$ Have you gone to any ski shops, as they have to pay to have old equipment disposed of, so they may give them to you. Also, this is ski swap season, so after a pair doesn’t sell, offer to take them off that persons hands for them.

I had posted skis on craigslist and someone needed them for the Boy Scouts Klondike derby sled. Of course I donated the skis to the them.
